Despite the Increased Batch Strength, the Average CTC of IIT Bombay Management Students Rises in the Final Placement

Despite the increase in student strength this year, the students of Sailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay have received better average CTC than the last year. In the final placements for the 2014-2016 batch, the average CTC increased to INR 16.5 lakhs from last year’s average of INR 16.2 lakhs. The maximum CTC offered to the 2014-16 batch was INR 27.5 lakh.

The 2014-16 batch with a strength of 117 students bagged 100 offers in the final placements from 49 participating companies with an unprecedented amount of 26 PPOs/PPIs being offered. There were 16 new recruiters this year including Google, Dell International, Cisco, Abbott and Hitachi Consulting participated in the placement programme offering varied profiles from operations, consulting, analytics, finance and marketing.

Top companies from the manufacturing sector such as Cummins, Tata   Motors, HP Inc, Jindal Steel and Power and National Instruments recruited for a host of profiles in operations, systems and vendor management. IT/ITES majors like Google, Dell, Cisco, Capgemini, CitiusTech, Infosys and Wipro recruited students for profiles like IT consulting,data analytics and security solutions to name a few. Healthcare giants like Abbott, Piramal, Glenmark and Cochlear also offered a host of profiles in supply chain management, operations, sales and marketing.

Notably, the batch strength of 2014-16 was 50% more than that of the last year.
